Empowering Early Detection, Saving Lives
Saathi is a cancer action group for breast and cervical cancer dedicated to creating awareness, enabling early detection, and building a supportive community across clubs and institutions. We believe that knowledge, early screening, and community support can dramatically improve survival rates and quality of life.
Why Saathi Exists
The Critical Need for Awareness
Leading Cause: Breast cancer is the most common cancer in India. About 2.37 lakh women were diagnosed and about 96,000 died of it in 2024.
Early Detection Impact: Awareness and early detection improve survival: in India, 81% of women whose breast cancer was found while still localised were alive five years later, compared with 18% when it had spread.
Accessibility Gap: There is a lack of easily accessible awareness programmes, especially for youth and educational institutions.
Club Engagement: Many clubs and schools want to contribute but don't know how to start meaningful breast cancer awareness initiatives.
Our Vision
To create a society where breast cancer awareness is universal, early detection is the norm, and every individual has access to support and resources for prevention and care.
